Conduction Band Offset Effect on the Cu2ZnSnS4 Solar Cells Performance

Among the causes of degradation performance kesterite-based solar cells is wrong choice n-type buffer layer which has direct repercussions on unfavorable band alignment, conduction offset (CBO) at interface absorber/buffer junction one major lower VOC. In this work, effect CBO (CZTS/Cd(1-x)ZnxS) as a function x composition Zn with respect to (Zn+Cd) studied using SCAPS-1D simulator package. The obtained results show that reaches maximum values (Jsc = 13.9 mA/cm2, Voc 0.757 V, FF 65.6%, ɳ 6.9%) for an optimal value -0.2 eV and proportion 0.4 (Cd0.6Zn0.4S). CZTS parameters are affected by thickness concentration acceptor carriers. best performances absorber layer, thichness (d 2.5 µm) (ND 1016 cm-3). optimizing electron work back metal contact exhibited optimum 5.7 power conversion efficiency 13.1%, 0.961 mV, 67.3% Jsc 20.2 mA/cm2.
